A restoration project can be as much about the people around a machine as the machine itself. In a video published on 25 October 2026, Usagi Electric says the collaborative Bendix G-15 project has received the Tony Sale Award. He is careful to describe it as a shared honour, not a personal prize.

The 15-minute video reflects on the work behind the G-15 and the wider computer-conservation community. Footage of the machine and the team gives the announcement more substance than a trophy update: preserving an early computer means recovering the know-how to maintain and operate it, as well as its hardware. Usagi Electric credits System Source for the chance to work on the machine and points viewers to his talk at The National Museum of Computing for more on the project.

It is an encouraging recognition for hands-on computing history. Watch Usagi Electric’s original award announcement for his account of the collaboration.
