Scrapyard find: a Sound Blaster 16 SCSI and other vintage PC hardware

A trip to a scrapyard has turned up a particularly unusual piece of PC audio hardware: a Sound Blaster 16 SCSI card. In a video published on 22 October 2026, Bits und Bolts shows the card among a haul of discarded vintage components, then lays out what was rescued.

The appeal is the combination on one ISA board. The card pairs Sound Blaster audio with a SCSI interface, a reminder that adding a CD-ROM drive to a 1990s PC could involve more than just a sound upgrade. The video also shows an AWE64 Value (identified by the creator as a CT4500), an ISA multi-I/O controller, processors and motherboards from the same scrapyard visit.

This is a find, not a repair verdict: the video shows the hardware being recovered and identified, but does not establish that the Sound Blaster 16 SCSI has been tested and works. That uncertainty is part of the story for anyone who has brought old expansion cards back from the scrap pile.
