A PDP-11 restoration reaches the operating-system test

With the 8222 now running, Retro Computing Ranch has moved from hardware bring-up to a more satisfying test: booting three operating systems on its PDP-11 setup. The 15 October video follows the machine and its terminal through the boot attempts, rather than treating a power-on prompt as the finish line.

That is the interesting part for vintage-computing restorers. Getting a processor and interface working is one milestone; loading operating software shows how the whole setup behaves as a usable computer. The video makes that progression tangible, with the open hardware, terminal output and a physical display all in view. Retro Computing Ranch describes this as the next step after getting the 8222 fully operational.
